Job Description:

Baptist Health is looking for a Patient Safety Officer to join our team in New Albany, IN

Coordinates and provides direct clinical support for the patient safety and the risk management programs. Manages Patient Safety Evaluation System activities, including the management of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP). Also provides support to the Patient Safety-Risk Management Department overall strategies and operations. Works with Clinical Providers and Leadership to improve processes and reduce frequency and severity of undesirable events or trends in patient care or facility management. The Patient Safety Officer participates in pro-active risk assessments based on relevant literature and sentinel event alerts. Recommends preventive and/or remedial solutions to ensure safety and reduce potential hazards to patients, visitors, and staff. Works with the Regional Director of Patient Safety and Risk Management to provide oversight; recommends preventative and/or remedial solutions that will improve safety, reduce hazards, prevent loss, transfer risks, and minimize the chance of harm to patients, visitors, staff, and the organization. Works closely with the leaders, physicians, employees, other key operational stakeholders and BH Legal Department and Counsel.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in Nursing or clinically related Healthcare Field.

  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience, previous leadership and knowledge of regulatory requirements and/or Risk Management required.

  • CPHRM (Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Manager) preferred.
