Summary

A PALA Project Manager is the leader and primary focal point of the construction project. Each PALA Project Manager is expected to be the driving force over his/her projects ensuring success by leading with a great attitude, preparing team members properly, and being an ambassador for PALA to our Clients. While a rewarding position, exceptional organizational skills are required in this fast pace environment to achieve these expectations. Expectations include the ability to manage multiple projects focusing on the design, management and erection of ASME Vessels, API Shop Tanks and other various fabricated items in PALA's fabrication shop.

Essential Functions

  • Upholds the highest standard for safety, quality, and professionalism for employees, co-workers, and Clients.
  • Serves as the point of contact on assigned projects between PALA and Clients.
  • As the primary client contact, be responsible for thoroughly reviewing and understanding work scopes, specifications, and contracts and insuring compliance with all contractual requirements.
  • Interact with client, identifying/negotiating project change orders. Work through issues with clients in a proactive manner, building a long term relationship.
  • Assists fabrication shop in any/all aspects of project execution with a focus primarily on administrative/managerial duties.
  • Working in a team based environment, with Safety, Quality, Engineering, Estimating, Human Resources, Project Controls and Accounting. Setting up each group to be successful and to ensure internal and client goals are met.
  • Facilitate interaction of our Estimating and Engineering group to ensure all information is accurately transferred.
  • Initiate and follow Engineering, Procurement and Shop Fabrication functions to maximize cost effectiveness while ensuring internal and client schedule are met from project beginning to completion.
  • Work with Quality Professionals to build a Quality - Inspection Test Plan. Promote, monitor and participate in the execution of the ITP.
  • Work with Project Services to build an effective schedule, set up the progress tracking and cost control process. Monitor progress, optimize schedule, report and act on any deficiency. Control costs, maximize cost effectiveness and forecast cost projections on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Develop a cash flow plan, monitor the plan, initiate invoicing with accounting, and follow up through receipt of payment.
  • Participate in improving company processes and organization effectiveness.
  • Participate in development and execution of a sales plan to grow existing client relationship and target and retain new clients.
Position Requirements
  • Positive attitude and the ability to work productively with others in a fast pace setting to achieve a common goal.
  • Eight Years of Field Experience in the repair of existing or erection of new API tanks in industrial facilities. Four of those years in a leadership or staff position such as Foremen, Superintendent, Quality, Safety, Planner, Scheduler, Estimator, and Cost Control.

OR

  • Four-year technical degree such as Construction Management or Technology, Engineering, with four years of experience in Industrial Construction, working in a leadership or staff position such as Foremen, Superintendent, Quality, Safety, Planner, Scheduler, Estimator, Cost Control.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft office.
  • Experience in performing ASME calculations in "PVElite" or "Compress" software for ASME pressure vessel design.
  • Able to check and review fabrication drawings generated by our vessel engineering team to specifications provided by client.
