The Company

We're Hitachi Vantara, the data foundation trusted by the world's innovators. Our resilient, high-performance data infrastructure means that customers - from banks to theme parks - can focus on achieving the incredible with data.

If you've seen the Las Vegas Sphere, you've seen just one example of how we empower businesses to automate, optimize, innovate - and wow their customers. Right now, we're laying the foundation for our next wave of growth. We're looking for people who love being part of a diverse, global team - and who get excited about making a real-world impact with data.

Meet the Team

We're seeking a skilled and experienced Executive Communications Manager to join our small but mighty team of Comms professionals chartered to drive thought leadership, increase executive voice and influence company culture. You'll lead external and internal communications for two C-level executives leading our Customer Service and IT functions - a fantastic opportunity to shape messaging and drive impact around innovation, reputation and transformation as the company embarks on an ambitious plan to grow our business and brand. There's no shortage of need or opportunity here, so expect to do more than the job description.
This is a strategic role calling for someone eager and able to: work with top leaders, align communications plans to strategic business objectives, collaborate with multiple global teams, apply superior writing and project management skills - and have a good time as part of an energetic and optimistic Comms function.

What you'll be doing

* Through direct executive interaction, you'll develop executive communications strategies, platforms and assets, including thought leadership opportunities and content, and employee communications plans and materials
* Connect and collaborate with adjacent functions, including Marketing, PR, Social, Thought Leadership, Events and Brand to increase communications effectiveness and support mutual success
* Define communication objectives and KPIs, measure performance against goals, and conduct analysis, reporting and refinement for continuous improvement
* Work in multiple ways -- independently, within a team, cross-functionally and even into the broader company ecosystem -- to enhance executive presence and impact
* Serve as a trusted communications advisor, advising on speaker placement and coaching and supporting the success of the execs' extended team
* Advance our department role as a Communications Center of Excellence, exemplifying best practices, defining processes, and providing consultation across the organization as needed

What you bring to the team

* Accomplished communicator with 4+ years in an ExecCom role supporting C-level or SVP executives, preferably CIO, CFO, CSO and/or Chief Customer Officer
* 4+ years' experience in enterprise technology preferred
* Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, a talent for storytelling, and ability to simplify complex issues and tailor comms to audience
* Adept at juggling multiple projects, reprioritizing deliverables, and managing reviews and expectations of various stakeholders
* Executive presence including confidently taking a PoV, supporting a position with data, enlightening an audience with insights, and leading by influence in a complex global organization
* Good at spotting gaps and needs, sourcing opportunities, thinking strategically, and executing with down-to-the-last-detail excellence
* Ability to work independently but also as part of team; be agile but also seek consistency and scalability; seek clarity but also able to deal with ambiguity.
* This role will travel roughly 10%.
