Role Description

The Supply Manager is a key IBP role and responsible for driving an optimal supply plan in OMP for the 24 months horizon. The goal is to publish an aggregated constrained supply plan and 24m inventory and capacity utilization forecast on a monthly basis. The supply manager achieves this goal by optimizing asset utilization and inventory strategy, aligning with cross-functional IBP team members on scenario development and making the right choices at the right time for driving business value. The monthly supply review meeting is facilitated by the supply manager and used to have an exception focused approach on answering the key choices for value generation

Responsibilities

  • Supply plan optimization: creates and maintains 24 month supply plan in OMP by using optimization solvers to meet business objectives. Understands mathematical optimization concept; understanding of supply (cost) elements and process constraints that influences planning outcomes. Manages and resolves exceptions that occur in SOP planning horizon. Publishes a 24m forecast for inventory and capacity utilization.
  • Scenario development and analysis: pro-actively reaches out to key stakeholders for business /supply scenarios input and conducts what-if analysis in OMP. Generates and compares feasible scenarios within OMP and PBI and analyzes the impact on common performance metrics. Shares scenario recommendations in supply review meeting and drives decision making at the right time
  • End to end flow: understands E2E interactions within planning tool, upstream/downstream connectivity and other functions such as demand planning, tactical planning, logistics, product management, etc.
  • Functional guidance: Provides functional guidance to integrated planning by publishing the SOP reference plan, tracking progress against plan and communicating the long term planning priorities to optimize short term production plan
  • Downstream know-how: knowledge of downstream impacts in warehousing, distribution and manufacturing environments. Understands downstream business strategy and is able to translate this in the aggregated 24 month supply plan to generate requirements for stream planning
  • Upstream know-how: knowledge on upstream impacts on molecules allocations, ensures alignment with downstream supply managers on requirements for upstream planning. Optimizes upstream constraints and publishes 24 month stream allocation plan to downstream in OMP
  • Master data management: Understands (aggregated) planning master data as well as related storage, validation, standardization and updating requirements of master data in SAP and OMP.
  • Performance management: Continuously monitor metrics (both inside and outside OMP) that impact performance and accurately report performance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, Masters degree is preferred
  • 3+ years experience in forecasting, supply chain, manufacturing, and/or business preferred
  • End-to-end Supply Chain working knowledge and experience
  • Working experience with planning systems (OMP most preferred, SAP)
  • Data acumen: understanding of supply planning related data elements, ability to analyze metrics
  • APICS certification or willingness to achieve certification within 24 months of selection
