Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description:

• Maneuver motorized heavy equipment to ensure accurate removal and placement of material
• Load and offload materials to/from other heavy equipment
• Observe stipulated safety codes at all times
• Advise Supervisor and Shop Superintendent of any needed repairs or maintenance
• Inspects equipment and checks fluid levels prior to starting equipment
• Keeps equipment clean and clear of debris
• Groundwork as required

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior experience operating a variety of heavy equipment - Superintendent may ask you to demonstrate your skills during the interview process
• Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses
• Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• A sound understanding of construction sites and safety guidelines
• Capacity to follow directions
• Good communication skills
• Sharp decision-making skills
