ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIESinclude but are not limited to:



  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values

  • Interacts professionally and timely with clients via email, phone, and in-person
  • Performs functions of the role within an IMA office 0-50% of the time
  • Maintains a proactive approach, focusing on claim resolutions and strategies
  • Advocates for the timely resolution of claim matters for our clients
  • Communicates pertinent claim information timely to internal and external clients
  • Maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients
  • Participates in presentations, including new business, RFPs (clients, TPAs), claim reviews, renewals, etc.
  • Develops strong working knowledge of IMA and carrier computer systems/programs
  • Assists Claims Manager with the claim staff management, including training and development
  • Develops and expands relationships at local, regional, and national levels with carriers, TPAs, Legal Resources, Experts, etc.
  • Expands knowledge and expertise in all lines of coverage
  • Assists on Claims Projects, reports, loss runs, or other tasks as assigned
  • Attends insurance related seminars including but not limited to continuing education classes
  • Directs the activities of the Workers' Compensation Care Coordinator team members in the processing, monitoring, management and advocacy of claims
  • Manages associates including performance reviews, hiring and placement, resolving customer complaints, and salary and budget planning
  • Reviews and assigns claims and/or accounts to appropriate staff to ensure aggressive processing, adjustment, and management for the client
  • Contributes in hiring and development of staff members and identifies areas for improvement or growth


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:



  • 5+ years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent to a college degree
  • Systems skills - Applied Epic, Carrier websites
  • Experience with MS Office products preferred/required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Exceptional technical skill and knowledge of coverage and claims handling
  • Moderate travel required (25-50%)
  • Prefer college graduate or prior claims or general insurance experience
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Required: Strong mathematical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to discuss and solve claim problems with clients and insurance carriers

Salary Range
$138,600 $165,900 USD
