The Coordinator of Student Support Resources assists students in times of need by providing personalized support and assistance that allows students to achieve their full potential as students and campus citizens. This non-clinical position engages with some of the university's most complicated students of concern to create and implement strategies to optimally navigate a wide range of life events that have the potential to affect the pursuit of their educational goals, often by connecting them with specialized resources at the university or in the broader community. The Coordinator will respond to students who either self-present, or who are referred or identified by a community member, and will cultivate a meaningful and supportive relationship with the student during the period of case management, which could be short- or long-term depending on the nature of the concerns. This position will serve as a lead advocate in using a network of key partners on behalf of a student, including medical or mental health resources, academic advisors, faculty, disability resources specialists, financial assistance providers, student organization advisors, and/or family members, among others. While doing so, the Coordinator will employ a highly student-centered approach through advising strategies that preserve and enhance students' sense of agency in relation to decision-making and problem-solving. The Coordinator's caseload will consist primarily of undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus, mirroring similar support functions that the university's housefellows offer to residential students.
