Position Description

Goodfellow Bros. (GBI) is a large heavy-civil contractor with operations throughout the West Coast & Hawaii. Our company is a fourth generation, family-owned business, celebrating over 100 years in the industry! GBI has always maintained that our employees are our greatest asset, and we are now seeking to add to our team. We are looking for a Graphic and Digital Designer to join our team in Livermore, CA.

Position Summary

As a Graphic and Digital Designer on our team, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling designs that effectively communicate our brand's message and support our marketing and sales efforts. You'll work closely with our marketing, project management, and regional teams to develop a wide range of materials, including print and digital collateral, presentations, and branding elements.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain the visual identity of the company, ensuring consistency across all platforms and materials.
  • Create and update brand guidelines as needed.
  • Design marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, posters, and advertisements.
  • Develop graphics for proposals, presentations, and reports that effectively communicate complex information in a clear and visually appealing manner.
  • Design and produce digital assets for the company's website, social media channels, and email campaigns.
  • Manage family of companies' websites in WordPress.
  • As needed, create diagrams, and infographics to visually represent construction methodologies, project timelines, and technical data.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project managers to produce visual content for client presentations and stakeholder meetings.
  • Assist in the design and layout of internal and external communications, including Good News newsletter, announcements, and project updates.
  • Support the creation of video content, including storyboarding and graphic elements.
  • Design signage, banners, and promotional items for trade shows, industry events, and corporate functions.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop cohesive event branding.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements

Required Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge

  • Bachelor Degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
  • WordPress Experience a must
  • Strong understanding of branding, layout, color theory, and typography.
  • Experience with creating both print and digital design assets.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and engaging visuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for web design.
