General Summary....

The Procurement Specialist ensures that a variety of goods and services are acquired from qualified vendors/suppliers and delivered according to agreed terms and conditions. An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company through time and cost agreements.

This position will be responsible for.....

  • Provides procurement support and maintains purchase agreements and purchase orders ensuring a consistent, best value approach to obtaining goods and services.
  • Ensure that materials, goods and services are procured on time, to target costs and that deliverables meet the specified technical requirements.
  • Handle a wide variety of commodities and be knowledgeable of qualified sources of supply, market conditions and trends.
  • Participate in formulating near and long term buying strategies to ensure quality and continuity of supply while minimizing total cost.
  • Maintain well documented purchase order files and follow up on open purchase orders.
  • Negotiate, place and maintain the purchase order files for large dollar procurements which may include complex terms and conditions and extensive follow-up.
  • Single point of contact for suppliers on critical project deliverables, includes status updates to the project team on PO life cycle up until delivery to the job sites.
  • Continually analyzing pricing and purchasing habits in an effort to minimize cost while maximizing efficiency.
  • Effectively communicate across multiple functions and levels while building relationships to ensure quality.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree inrelated field preferred and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • In lieu of degree, highschool diploma or GED and 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Project ManagementSkills
  • Experience working withsuppliers on developing delivery schedules.
  • Solid understanding ofsupply chain and inventory management systems.
  • A working knowledge ofthe FAR/DFARS.
  • CPSR experience a plus.
  • Excellentorganizational and written, verbal, and social communication skills.
  • Cross-functionalcollaboration experience.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements
