Position Overview
We are seeking a Database Analyst II. This individual participates in the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and databases using various relational database, client/server, and object-oriented tools and programming languages. Uses various applications to maintain and update large databases, reviews database designs and ensures consistency of standards, procedures and content. Assembles, manipulates, analyzes, and disseminates data. EDC experience (Redcap, RedcapCloud) is needed and knowledge on 21 part 11 Compliance is preferred.

This position may be eligible for the possibility of remote work.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Electronic Capture database applications for IRB approved protocols using Redcap and Redcap cloud.
  • Implement data quality and departmental standards in line with organizational expectations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on data validation and loading to communicate data load progress to stakeholders and management.
  • Supports and recommends improvements to databases and/or ETL operational processes including automation, monitoring, and job scheduling.
  • Perform database, SQL, and/or ETL performance tuning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.

Minimum Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, data science, information science, business, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

  • Minimum requirement: 2+ years of IT experience in the design of databases and ETL processes preferably in comparable industry.
  • EDC experience (Redcap, RedcapCloud) is highly preferred.
  • Prefer Clinical Researche experience.
  • Prefer knowledge on 21 Part 11 Compliance and HIPAA.
  • Prefer experience with Epic EHR.
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, CI/CD).
  • Experience in programming querying languages (SQL, R, Python, SAS).
  • Some experience with enterprise reporting tools for development of reports as applicable.
  • Some experience creating dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g. PBI, Tableau, Qlik, and data warehousing applications) as applicable.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Database Analyst II.
