GENERAL FUNCTION

The Account Specialist is responsible for managing the overall relationship within an assigned group of clients (including employers, brokers, and consultants) in the small and mid-market business segment. The Account Specialist consults and analyzes vision benefit portfolios, resolves issues, and manages the renewal process. The position requires a high level of customer focus ensuring client satisfaction and retention.

As a level 1 Account Specialist, the position is assigned to a group of small and mid-market clients with an average book of business greater than 2000 members.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Ensures client satisfaction and retention of assigned client base
  • Manages relationship with current clients and provides outstanding customer service
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for vision products in insurance industry
  • Provides annual business reviews to largest clients and brokers
  • Provides on-time/accurate renewal proposals
  • Responds to inquiries and issues with sense of urgency
  • Interacts daily by phone with external constituents
  • Develops strong relationships with internal and external constituents
  • Maintains / obtains proper licensing as required
  • Collaborates with clients to provide optimal vision benefit products
  • Finalizes and implements negotiated plan designs and renewals
  • Provides guidance and execution of team training
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to other team members



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years in a service oriented profession with demonstrated success
  • Accident & Health Insurance License or ability to obtain license within 60 (sixty) days of hire
  • Some travel required (up to 25% of time)
  • Superior professional communication skills - verbal and written
  • Strong phone presence
  • Strong organizational and follow through skills
  • Proficient skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to anticipate customer's needs, strong customer focus



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Experience and knowledge of vision benefits and/or insurance industry
  • Sales/Account Management experience
  • Experience using SalesForce.com

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
