Overview

ETL Developer II - Finance

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, Salary, Exempt

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

The ETL Developer will clean, manipulate, and model data from the EMR and external data sources to create the maximum value for the organization. The individual will collect metadata and business process information from a variety of sources and analyze the information to provide insight and recommendations into the standardization of data definitions and processes.

Responsibilities

    Lead and manage the requirements collection, design, and delivery of the data solutions and ETL processes.
  • Code and documents scripts and stored procedures. Design and implement data strategy methods.
  • Perform data sourcing analysis and data dictionary administration, to include developing new data dictionaries.
  • Define and implement best practices for ETL design, develop and implement data modeling standards including element naming conventions.
  • Transform business requirements into logical data models.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy dashboards, reports and alerts/notifications for the presentation of business metrics according to business user requirements consistent with integrated BI applications and warehouse structure.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Preferred fields of study include Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Services.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years of progressive data warehousing/database experience (e.g. Consultant, Systems Analyst, Software Engineer).
  • Experience working with healthcare data in general and specifically healthcare claims data is preferred.
  • Experience creating dashboards in a Business Intelligence tool. Power BI or Qlik preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospital coding systems (including ICD, CPT, MSDRG, APRDRG) as well as experience using medical terminology.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to test and validate data, as well as evaluate and understand large and complex information sets.
  • Strong SQL skills required. Oracle or SQL Server preferred.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and complete each thoroughly, accurately and on-time.
  • Attention to detail and ability to function independently with minimal oversight.
