Material Planner

As a Material Planner you will be in charge of raw materials, monitoring inventory, and assuring the best shipment method while considering cost and service. You will also expedite, review aged inventory, and provide supervisor with feedback regarding vendors. Communicate daily with suppliers, vendors and customers to ensure needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

• You will collaborate with customer service, planning, production, quality, technical and others to produce the daily work schedule needed to support sales orders, fulfill technical lab requests, sampling demands, and replenishment of inventories.
• Utilize software to analyze forecasts to ensure product manufacturing according to netted requirements and interpret time-phased netted requirements to plan replenishment.
• Support inventory accuracy goals and other KPI's through proper use of inventory affecting transactions.
• You will identify and recommend solutions for transactional processes which may unfavorably impact inventory accuracy.
• Engage with process owners to support the balancing of inventories between PPG and UDC owned inventory between locations to achieve execution of the production schedule, follow FIFO practices, minimize movements, and minimize costs.
• Provide feedback to operations planning, technical, and production on material shortages and inventory issues, as applicable.

Qualifications:

• High school degree required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• 3+ years of supply chain or material planning experience
• SAP experience
• Written and oral communications skills
• APICS certification is a plus
