Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and manage accounting activities within our corporate and additionalcompanies. This role will involve supervision of accounting staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing financial processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles, particularly in treasury transactions, expense accruals, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Oversight: Manage accounting activities for corporate functional departments and companies, including cash transactions and expense accruals ensuring accurate financial reporting.

  • Team Supervision: Supervise/mentor 1-2 accountants ensure compliance with standards and accuracy.

  • Accounts Payable Management: Oversee the Accounts Payable function, establishnew vendor accounts, cross-charging expenses to business units, review and approve payments,and reconciling accounts.

  • Audit Coordination: Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits.

  • Transaction Accounting: Account for and analyze significant transactions includingacquisitions, dispositions, and stock compensation..

  • SOX Compliance: Oversee Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance for corporate office departments, ensuring that all internal controls and procedures are followed.

  • Tax Oversight: Review and report necessary tax information, including 1099s and property tax filings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to automate and improve existing accounting processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and corporate finance principles.
  • Proven experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and performance management.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
