Scope of Position The CT Simulation Technologist functions as an integral member of the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Medical Center. The primary purpose of the CT Simulation Technologist is to perform radiation therapy simulation involving the application of CT equipment for simulation and treatment setup for malignancies and pain. The CT Simulation Technologist is responsible for the accurate delivery setup and simulation of prescribed CT simulations of patients in the Department of Radiation Oncology. CT Simulation Technologist performs quality assessment activities, education, training, and oversight to radiation therapy students as directed by the Radiation Therapy Manager. Position Summary The CT Simulation Technologist performs CT simulation procedures assisting in treatment planning and maintenance of prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist. The CT Simulation Technologist reinforces advice and monitors patients for unusual reactions and events, observes radiation safety measures for patients and staff, and assists in student teaching, oversight, and supervision. In addition, the CT Simulation Technologist provides patient education, participating in the education and research missions of the Medical Center through active participation in clinical education and clinical projects. and performs quality assessment activities for the Department of Radiation Oncology. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiography (R) required. Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiography. Previous CT Technologist experience is preferred. 2+ years of Radiography experience. Ongoing: Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health.
