Job Summary:

As a Regulatory Performance Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring regulatory compliance with state requirements and performance excellence within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to monitor and evaluate regulatory processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance compliance and efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to assess risks, develop compliance strategies, and provide guidance on regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Location: Hybrid, downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (see below)

Key Responsibilities:



  • Regulatory Compliance Evaluation: Monitor state regulatory compliance processes and activities to assess adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Conduct regular assessments to identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Compliance Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement state regulatory compliance strategies aligned with business objectives. Provide guidance and recommendations on best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline state regulatory processes and enhance efficiency. Assist with development and implementation of initiatives to improve compliance workflows, documentation, and reporting systems.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assess regulatory risks across the organization and propose risk mitigation strategies. Work with relevant stakeholders to implement controls and monitor effectiveness.
  • Compliance Training and Communication: Partner with DLC's Learning organization to develop and deliver training programs that enhance state regulatory awareness and understanding among employees. Communicate changes in regulations, policies, and procedures effectively throughout the organization.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate preparation of state regulatory reports and submissions. Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary data, review reports for accuracy, and coordinate submission processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as Legal, Customer Service, and Operations, to ensure state regulatory requirements is integrated into business processes and initiatives.
  • Recordkeeping and Documentation: Maintain comprehensive records of regulatory activities, audits, and compliance assessments. Ensure documentation is organized, accessible, and up to date.



Education/Experience Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., regulatory affairs, compliance, or a related discipline).
  • Five or more (5+) years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance, or a related field, with a focus on regulatory performance and process improvement.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission regulations, regulatory frameworks generally, and industry standards.

Scope

Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs, and reporting. Accountable for managing one's own time and workflow but may be leading projects or project steps. Work is typically complex in nature, requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base but has a solid foundation to act independently the majority of the time. Still draws on experts and managers when needed but less frequently. Acts as a resource to less experienced staff on routine issues.

Decision Impact

Problems and issues faced are complex. Draws on past experience on a regular basis to solve problems and take new perspectives on existing solutions. Accountable for direct level of reasoning and decision making.

Hybrid Work

Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.

Storm Roles

All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company.Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc.

Data Governance

Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
