Shockwave Medical, Inc. is a pioneer in the development and commercialization of Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL) to treat complex calcified cardiovascular disease. Shockwave Medical aims to establish a new standard of care for medical device treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease through its differentiated and proprietary local delivery of sonic pressure waves for the treatment of calcified plaque.

The Copywriter is a person with a knack for clear communication who is also strategically grounded. They will be responsible for creating content that contributes to the evolution and development of Shockwave's brand experience and resonance through powerful storytelling. They will work collaboratively with the brand strategy, product marketing, medical education, and marketing operations teams to create compelling content that resonates with customers through our channels in a timely, consistent manner. The position will report to the Associate Creative Director.
Essential Job Functions
The successful candidate will:
  • Be capable of conceptual and strategic thinking, with the ability to write smart, on-brand copy.
  • Collaborate with our internal design team to create impactful communications.
  • Contribute to creative concepting, development and execution for various multi-channel campaigns, initiatives and other creative projects.
  • Create content for different mediums like video, social, print, website, digital display, etc.
  • Partner with external resources, freelancers and agencies as needed and ensure their work is aligned with the brand and synched to other key project parameters.
  • Develop creative materials in partnership with and in support of other groups such as product marketing, medical education, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5+ years' experience in marketing or at an advertising agency required.
  • Naming/branding experience.
  • Experience writing for multiple channels, such as print, social media and the web.
  • Needs to be able to marry creative strategy with creative output and successfully present the work to key stakeholders, including select sr. staff, in ways that clearly communicate the strategies driving the creative work.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of different groups within the broader marketing team and organization as a whole.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, operating within a team and independently, adapting to changing requirements.
  • Up to 20% travel may be required.

Market Range:

San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) Market Range: $94,000 - $118,000
All Other US Locations (Outside of SFBA):
$80,000 - $100,000

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
