Description |
This position is responsible for operating many kinds of equipment and instrumentation, setting up apparatus for chemical reactions, preparing compounds, monitoring commercial production, testing for raw material and product quality, and collecting and analyzing samples. They conduct a variety of laboratory procedures, from routine process control to complex research projects. |

Location: Zeeland, Michigan
Role Specific Responsibilities:
- Monitors product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications
- Sets up and conducts chemical experiments, tests, and analyses using techniques such as chromatography, spectroscopy, physical and chemical separation techniques, and wet chemistry methods
- Conducts chemical and physical laboratory tests to assist scientists in making qualitative and quantitative analyses of solids and liquids
- Compiles and interprets results of tests and analyses
- Provides technical support and assistance to chemists, engineers and operations Collaborates with Engineering and Quality teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production problems
- Prepares chemical solutions for products and processes following standardized formulas or creates experimental formulas
- Maintains and cleans laboratory instruments and equipment
- Orders and inventory materials to maintain supplies
- Develops and conducts programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards of raw materials, chemical intermediates, and products
- Investigate or participate in teams to help Resolve minor quality problems at the Zeeland facility
- Maintains cleanliness through good housekeeping practices
- Performs other duties as assigned

- Reports all Health, Safety and Environmental accidents, incidents and near misses promptly

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Associate degree in Chemistry (or equivalent)
- 2-3 years of related industrial or related laboratory experience
- Ability to sit, stand, and move around the facility
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Must have the willingness to work a non-standard shift
