The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Administration, the Financial Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations in the Department of Biological Sciences.

Responsibilities
- Tracks and reconciles financial transactions including but not limited to payroll, purchase orders, invoices, and check requests.
- Bills items for the department stockroom, contract accounts, and recovery of user costs for phones, copying, and petty cash.
- Assists with identifying and reconciling ARC FDS statement discrepancies.
- Process journal vouchers and internal transfers (ITFs).
- In close collaboration with the Director of Administration and the Business Manager, prepares the departmental payroll and graduate tuition fees.
- Prepares monthly financial reports and distributes them accordingly to faculty and administrative staff.
- Manages the department's petty cash fund and ensures regular reconciliation to ensure that funds are spent properly.
- Coordinates maintenance and repair of copy machines.
- Prepares packages for FedEx shipments and ensures accuracy of items and quantities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience.
