Join our mission-driven team as an Residential Coach, Shift Lead at our Lisa's House Program in Plainville, CT. At Lisa's House, youth will find an array of comprehensive, client-specific treatment, services and interventions to help with emotional regulation, empowering adolescent females on decision-making and building healthy relationships, and boosting educational functioning. This will be accomplished through the implementation of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The Residential Coach provides direct supervision, daily care, and support services for girls and their families involved with the program.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensures that the tenets and philosophy of a strengths based, gender responsive, relational, trauma informed program are reinforced
  • Oversee daily operations during the assigned shift, ensuring smooth functioning.
  • Provides positive role modeling for staff and residents at all times, including professional dress, managing personal emotions, behavior, etc.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct care staff, ensuring adherence to DBT principles and practices.
  • Mentor new staff, providing orientation and training on DBT protocols, and therapeutic practices.
  • Monitor and address any client behavioral issues, providing appropriate interventions according to DBT protocols.
  • Act as the primary responder to crises, employing DBT crisis intervention techniques. Support staff in managing crises, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contributing to treatment planning and case reviews.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client progress, incidents, and shift activities
  • Implements and provides proper documentation for the program's behavior motivation system (TIER)
  • Contributes to the development of a monthly recreational calendar.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the residents and their families according to the agency's policy
  • Maintain and review the monitoring log 15-minute check system, to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety protocols.
  • Participates in all meetings as required such as but not limited to: Consultation team, SES, and Staff Meeting
  • Oversee, house counts are complete as assigned and document results in CSI electronic data collection system immediately after task is completed.
  • Report to work 15 minutes before their scheduled shift for example staff hires for the 3pm-11pm shift are required to report to work by 2:45pm.
  • Performs all responsibilities and assignments in accordance with the guidelines set forth by CSSD and CSI policies and procedures;
  • Performs all other assigned, related or required duties

What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree plus one year experience in the social service or criminal justice field.
  • Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one year basis.
  • Must be familiar with gender-responsive, relational, strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches
  • Must be able to work with challenging youth and families.
  • Knowledge of Spanish in oral and written communication is desired
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to attend all first shift offsite training required for the position

Starting Salary: $20.50/hour with a second shift differential of $1.00 and a third shift differential of $2.00
