How you will make an impact

As an Accounting Manager, Accounts Payable you will provide oversight and management of the Procure-to-pay team including the reporting and filing requirements of this process. They ensure an accurate and timely quarter-end close, including the preparation and/or review of reconciliations and journal entries, ensuring timely payment of vendors and employees, accuracy of coding of expenses and assisting with preparation of internal financial reports.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Supervise activities, mentor direct reports and provide technical guidance to Procure-to-Pay team
  • Review selection of vendors to be paid each week from Mineral Tree and Epicor
  • Oversee vendor file maintenance, including verification of payment information
  • Review weekly reconciliation of payment processing system (Mineral Tree) to accounting system (Great Plains)
  • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries for month-end accruals and AP batches
  • Ensure timely filing of required tax forms and statements such as 1099s
  • Review Form W-9 information
  • Oversee the Corporate Credit Card and T&E program
  • Collaborate with Finance SOX consultants and auditors
  • Support SOX 404 compliance and recommend SOX control enhancements
  • Review audit support generated by Procure-to-Pay team
  • Prepare BS and P&L flux on designated general ledger accounts
  • Maintain AP inbox ensuring timely processing of support inquiries and invoices
  • Provide high-level customer service to vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Respond to AP and T&E inquiries, provide training, troubleshoot problems, and research issues
  • Identify and drive process improvements to streamline Procure-to-Pay workflows
  • Interface regularly with all members of Finance and other departments across multiple locations
  • Serve as ReQlogic, Mineral Tree, Epicor and Concur Procure-to-Pay subject matter expert

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting with a minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Accounts payable and general ledger experience required
  • Working knowledge of Great Plains, Epicor, Concur, ReQlogic, Mineral Tree and Blackline is a plus
  • Public company and SOX-compliant pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience is a plus

The most likely base pay range for this position is $101K - $152K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individual's exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
