Key Responsibilities
Work closely with stakeholders and partners in the planning, execution, and delivery of data engineering projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and business goals.
Assist and provide guidance to data engineering team, leveraging your experience in data architecture, warehousing, and integration. Ensure that data infrastructure supports the client's needs for scalability, performance, and security.
Act as the primary interface between internal technical teams and senior-level client stakeholders on research plans, status of activities, findings, and recommendations. Translate complex data engineering concepts into clear, actionable project plans and outcomes for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that expectations are met.
Utilize Agile methodologies to manage project lifecycles, facilitate sprint planning, and ensure continuous delivery. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to maintain project momentum and address any roadblocks. Develop and implement mitigation strategies while optimizing resource allocation to ensure project success.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in data engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Master's degree or PMP certification is a plus.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years managing technical projects in data-focused environments.
Strong project management skills with a solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, or other methodologies.
Required Skills/Abilities
US Citizenship required, may require sponsorship for a Secret level clearance.
Deep understanding of SQL, NoSQL databases, and complex data modeling techniques.
Hands-on experience with data integration, pipeline development, and advanced data storage and retrieval architectures.
Proven ability to manage parallel projects with multiple teams and stakeholders, delivering results on time and within scope.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical details into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to perform in an individual contributor role while also excelling in a team environment
Desired Skills/Abilities
PMP, CSM, or relevant technical certifications are highly desirable.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance standards specific to the aerospace or defense industry.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Routine video conference and/or in-person meetings.
Ability for local travel to the Arlington, VA area.
