Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Department Administrator for the Department of Gender and Women's Studies (GWS), the Communications and Operations Coordinator provides critical administrative support for the Center for Research on Gender and Women (CRGW) and the Women's and Gender Studies Consortium (WGSC). This position is responsible for 3 major functions (CRGW administrative operations, WGSC and GWS event project management, and communications for GWS, the CRGW, and the WGSC) and requires considerable independent initiative and judgement. Applicants with experience in administrative support, project management, and oral and written communication are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will take initiative towards shared strategic communications for GWS, the CRGW, and the WGSC, logistical planning for the annual WGSC Spring Conference, as well as events such as seminars, receptions, meetings, and monthly campus events during the academic year, and coordinating the annual scholarship cycle for the CRGW. This employee will also act in a consultative role as a member of the GWS Operations Team and the GWS Communications Team. Responsibilities: Provides general administrative support, while exercising discretion, to the administrator of a department or division of the institution or to the administrator of multiple institution programs, services, and activities.

Event support on weekends and/or evenings will be provided with advance notice. Occasional remote work may be authorized.
