As Outside Sales Representative (OSR) at Ryerson, you will be responsible for recognizing and cultivating potential sales leads in the metal fabrication industry. You'll have the opportunity to travel to meet with prospective and existing customers, build strong, lasting relationships, and significantly contribute to the growth of our customer base and sales within the in the West Region.

Roles and Responsibilities:
* Engineering fabricated parts supply chains based on current opportunities with a new or existing customer base.
* Managing the relationship between the company and customers by establishing and cultivating strategic relationships with key individuals within territory accounts
* Increasing the awareness of metal products, processing service offerings, and representing the brand to prospective customers
* Managing internal operations relationships and external partnerships
* Growing transactional business by creating new opportunities within existing customers and developing new customers
* Developing a clear understanding of business practices including pricing, forecasting, terms and conditions, distribution, and code of ethics.
* Maintaining communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.
* Maintaining detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems
* Planning and carrying out sales and marketing activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix, and time frames.
* Communicating market trends and analyses with General Managers and Sales Engineer
* All other duties as assigned


Position Requirements:


* Bachelor's degree preferred
*3-5 years of work experience in metal fabrication.
*Expertise in metal fabrication sales processes (Alternative, hands-on experience in metal fabrication is accepted in lieu).
*Expertise in quality processes surrounding the manufacturing process.
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills required. Experience in Salesforce, AutoCAD and Solidworks a plus.
*Strong interpersonal, time management, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills and a demonstrated unique and creative approach to customer development and territory growth strategies; ability to thinking spontaneously and outside of the box.
*Effective communication, prospecting and negotiation skills with an awareness and aptitude for value-added selling. Both online and in person professional communication along with the ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks concurrently and work independently.
*Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
*Meet annual sales targets for the Ryerson Advanced Processing Division.
