Job Overview & Responsibilities

This position is open for a regular, part-time status with weekly schedule of 20-hours per week. Thisposition is for a CI (Continuous Improvement) project leader responsible to facilitate, manage and lead the development and execution of projects that will decrease costs and/or increase build and launch rates for the Vulcan launch vehicle flight hardware including the Vulcan Booster and Centaur V Upper Stage avionics, mechanical and propulsion systems, as well as projects that will improve engineering/IPT process efficiencies.

This position will be responsible for owning and driving the execution of projects for the VS (Vehicle Systems) team. Although the position will report to the Upper Stage IPT Leader, responsibilities will extend beyond that team to encompass all VS hardware and processes. This position is on site in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities will include the tracking and execution of cost opportunities related to Supply Chain, Production Operations, and Launch Operations improvements with a specific focus on engineering/design changes to flight hardware as the key enabler. In addition, this position will also be responsible for tracking, execution, and integration of opportunities for engineering process changes into the IPTs.

Duties will include:



  • Establishing and maintaining the processes and tools used to realize continuous improvement goals.
  • Development of new tools to enable engineering process changes to improve engineering efficiencies and integrating those improvements into the IPTs.
  • Focus on identifying engineering projects with favorable business cases and identifying resources required for successful implementation.
  • Oversight of the engineering project portfolio for Vehicle Systems.
  • Mange high priority projects, establishing project plans and aid with execution.
  • Ensure integration with Kuiper program office and Major Development
  • Continue to manage and grow Process and Tools / Communication Plan



Required Education

Bachelor

Required Years of Experience

Minimum of 10 years of related work experience

Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Project management.
  • Knowledge of launch vehicle design and launch processing.
  • Experience with issue resolution and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Competent knowledge on a vehicle system/subsystem.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in physics or related STEM field from an accredited college or university.
  • Lean / six sigma Green Belt certified.
  • Previous experience with launch vehicle design and operation.
  • At least 20 years of applicable experience in the associated technical area.

Summary Salary Range (forULA - Denveronly): $179,087.00 - $279,836.00

Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications, as well as internal equity, market and business considerations. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in addition to base pay.
