Job Summary
Faculty teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses; continue to expand their national and international professional influence in their academic disciplines; and participate actively in the academic community through membership in governance bodies and committees, administrative duties, program planning and development, research, and public service.
Minimum Education and Experience

A terminal degree in the academic discipline is required; a master's degree (or higher) plus a record of distinguished accomplishments and appropriate certifications may be allowed with the Provost's approval.

Preferred Education and Experience
Candidates should have an earned PhD in a social science or political science related field. ABD will be considered, but the PhD must be awarded by the time of appointment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence;
  • Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate classes;
  • Contribute assessment information and date as required;
  • Mentor and/or advise undergraduate and/or graduate students;
  • Engage in service within the academic unit, the university, and the profession as appropriate based on teaching and research constraints;
  • Teach eight (8) courses each academic year.
