Mechanical Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in layout ad start-up of new facility
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Focus on continuous improvement and optimization
  • Ensure optimal performance of equipment with minimal downtime
  • Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new equipment
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans and specifications using computer software
  • Perform engineering calculations to support design work
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and work with vendors and contractors
  • Utilize and maintain the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Develop and lead a skilled Maintenance department to perform preventative maintenance, urgently troubleshoot issues and reduce waste
  • Complete any additional special assignments as assigned

  • Local management - General Manager, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Quality, Safety
  • Regional leadership - VP/GM of business, Regional President, Human Resources Lead and Finance Lead Reinforces good safety practices, investigates near misses, incidents, and works to identify root cause with recommended solutions

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2-5 years' experience in engineering
  • PLC knowledge preferred
  • Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
  • Creative problem solver, strong communicator and resourceful leader
  • Manufacturing (Lean & Six Sigma) experience preferred
  • Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Must be able to work in the US
