Construction Inspector 1

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a highly motivated Construction Inspector 1 to join our Transportation Group in Columbia, MD or Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities include assisting with:

• Assist with data collection, quantity calculations, and inspections/testing related to transportation projects
• Assist with documenting and forwarding identified or received field concerns
• Assist with submittal reviews and RFI responses
• Prepare daily reports of construction activities and progress and prepare meeting minutes of weekly construction meetings
• Assist with surveying
• Other duties as assigned

This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions, and the ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position. A valid driver's license and good driving record is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required. A background check may be required.

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

• Associate degree in construction management or related field (preferred)
• Experience reading engineering plans
• Experience reading and understanding technical reports
