Penn State's Division of Development and Alumni Relations is one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country and excited to announce an opportunity for a Director of Application Development and Business Intelligence.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Development Administration, you'll lead a dynamic team of 9 talented application developers and business intelligence specialists. Together, you'll shape the future of advancement and alumni relations systems, ensuring they align with our strategic vision and fundraising priorities. Your expertise will be critical in enhancing our operations, fostering data-driven decision-making, and strengthening our connections across the University, in the following areas:

Application Development

  • Manage priorities and oversee software application and CRM reporting projects.
  • Support data warehouse development.
  • Collaborate with units, users, and other university offices to find solutions for enhancements and implement new technologies to support fundraising priorities.

Business Intelligence

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for reporting and data analysis projects.
  • Ensure data integrity in the university's donor, member, and alumni database.

This position typically requires a Bachelor's Degree or higher and 10+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will also have:

  • Proven leadership experience in managing application development projects.
  • A dedication to and understanding of the skills required to build relationships with diverse communities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working with technology implementations in Higher Education or a similar complex environment.
  • Experience in exploring stakeholders needs and guiding the innovative design and implementation of data structures and reporting to answer complex questions.
  • Familiarity with relational database development and programming.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools and reporting systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and a passion for driving positive change.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM development, administration, and reporting is preferred.

This position is based at the University Park campus, located in State College, Pennsylvania. The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$109,300.00 - $164,000.00

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
