WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) ...

The Substance Use Services Clinical Supervisor will lead the clinical team in providing a comprehensive range of substance use services, combining clinical oversight, team leadership, and direct service delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide regular supervision to substance use counselors and clinical staff, ensuring effective service delivery, adherence to best practices, and compliance with ethical and legal standards.
    • Conduct case reviews and guide staff on client assessments, treatment planning, and interventions.
    • Facilitate staff development through training, mentoring, and performance evaluations.
    • Support staff in managing complex cases, particularly those involving co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
    • Promote trauma-informed and culturally responsive care.
    • Collaborate with program leadership to establish goals, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives and funding requirements.
    • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including documentation, billing, and reporting requirements.
    • Provide direct clinical services, including assessments, individual/group counseling, and crisis intervention, as needed.
    • Oversee intake processes and collaborate with other departments to ensure appropriate care coordination for clients with dual diagnoses.
    • Participate in client case conferences, especially for high-risk cases, ensuring robust safety and discharge planning.
    • Address incidents and client grievances and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
    • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and retaining qualified clinical staff.
    • Create a positive and supportive work environment to enhance staff morale and prevent burnout.

What We Expect of You:

    • Current valid RI LICSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LCDP licensure.
    • Minimum of two years of clinical experience working with adults in a substance use setting.
    • Minimum of two years' experience with MAT.
    • Ability to work independently and remain highly organized.
    • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate with outside providers.
    • Timely and accurate documentation.
    • Demonstrated ability to design group workflows.
    • Deep understanding of substance use and co-occurring disorders with the ability to navigate complex systems to improve client outcomes in a community setting.
