Job Description

Danfoss in Loves Park, IL is searching for an Electrical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. The intern will be partnered with a mentor in the power electronics department of Danfoss Drives. The intern will have a work project which supports active product development of an ongoing activity.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Work on an active project to complete a package of work
  • Collaborate with the team members on the background, testing, analysis, and conclusion of the work assignment
  • Create a written report, or design journal, of the design, calculations, test data, test results, and conclusions
  • Prepare a presentation for the department at the end of the internship to explain what was accomplished over the internship
  • Participate in all department meetings and activities and provide general support when needed to other projects

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master'sdegree inElectrical or Power Engineering, juniors and above preferred.
  • Any coursework or focus on power engineering or power electronics within the Electrical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Effectively communicate in speaking and writing in formal, informal, and brainstorming sessions
  • Be able to ask for help
  • Possess situational awareness for personal safety in laboratory setting
  • Able to operate in a high-power laboratory in a fully aware and safe manner. Able to follow all safety rules and protocols and listed to instructions from the mentor.
  • Able to work both side by side with the mentor, the product team, as well as individually. Must be able to communicate status and progress at regular intervals.
  • Able to perform both hands-on laboratory work as well as extensive use of computer tools for simulation, analysis, and modelling.
  • All training and instruction for work activities will be provided on-the-job
