Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Radiological Control Mentor to work in our Radiological Control Operations department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our WCB in Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off. Some travel to the INL Site will be required with this position.

Complete a variety of assignments supporting operational activities. Demonstrate a commitment to, and hold others accountable to, the leadership maxims and Human Performance Improvement (HPI) Practices & Principles. Competent in Conduct of Operations, Conduct of Maintenance, and Integrated Safety Management Systems (ISMS). You will report to the Program Manager for the Radiological Control Operations department.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Identify risks that might jeopardize management system outcomes and develop assurance plans and schedules to ensure effective mitigation of those risks.
  • Provide analysis to main leaders to improve performance.
  • Communicate directly with and providing work direction for safe and compliant completion of scheduled work activities related to operations, including following procedural requirements, instructions, and work control.
  • Ensure assigned personnel have the required training to perform their assigned work and are fit for duty, which includes resolving problems related to personnel, training, and schedule compliance.
  • Ensure non-operations personnel in the facilities, or involved in operational activities, conduct their activities in a formal and disciplined manner consistent with Conduct of Operations (ConOps) and management procedures.
  • Implement and support the continuous improvement of ConOps, ISMS, HPI, and VPP programs and procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to build consensus by articulating the strategic alignment of the organization.
  • Mentor more junior staff members.



    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:



    • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited institution and 5 years of relevant experience or a Master's and 2 years of relevant experience.
    • Level 4: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited institution and years of relevant experience or a Master's and 6 years of relevant experience.
    • May accept experience in lieu of education commensurate with level (Level 3 position requires 11 years of relevant experience in place of degree; Level 4 requires 15 years of relevant experience in place of degree.
    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.



      Job Information:



      • The pay range for this position is: Level 3 ($63,528 - $130,284) / Level 4 ($75,804 - $155,496). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
      • You are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
      • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
      • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.
