The Alternative Delivery (Alt D) Manager is a new position that will work with the Infrastructure Market Principal (MP) and other members of the leadership team to develop Hanson's alternative delivery practice. This includes developing and implementing planning and sales strategies; determining the market potential and identifying pursuit objectives; and leading the business development team to achieve those targets.

The purpose of this role is to leverage existing client relationships to provide alternative delivery services for public clients - particularly as an Owner's Representative - and explore other alternative delivery services for private clients where those projects and clients meet our risk profile. The Alt D Manager will lead and develop our existing staff to serve clients in this capacity and will help to identify and recruit talent to grow the Alt D practice. The expectation is to significantly increase Hanson's position in this market and to understand, pursue, and win increasingly significant opportunities with our clients.

The Alt-D Manger reports directly to the Infrastructure MP and will collaborate across all markets and the executive team to offer guidance and increase focus on deepening relationships at the highest levels within our client organizations.

This position can be located in the following areas: the Midwest region (Illinois, Missouri, Indiana), Texas, Kentucky, Tennessee, or North Carolina.

This role:

  • Engages with corporate leadership to align our Alt D objectives with overall firm goals and vision for growth.
  • Guides and supports the development and implementation of an overall Alt D strategy.
  • Partners with the MPs, finance, and executive leaders to develop short and long-term sales goals. (e.g. 1 year; 3 year; 5 year growth strategy)
  • Provides overall leadership and accountability for the Alt D practice and works with the marketing and project management team to achieve business development and financial goals.
  • Defines and executes growth strategies that increase Hanson's market share in alternative delivery for all markets (infrastructure, energy, aviation, rail, industry, federal)
  • Helps Hanson strategize and win major projects for all contract delivery types (Alt D and DBB).
  • Mentors and guides staff in the development and execution of complex projects and alternative delivery methodologies.
  • Works with our legal counsel and Project Management team to develop alternative delivery practices and beneficial contracting vehicles for Alt D projects.
  • Provides leadership in advising clients on procurement activities, understanding risk allocation strategies, and identifying the best method of procurement to deliver their capital programs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 12 years of relevant experience
  • 4 years of successful management of engineering projects
