It is the mission of the Department of Pediatrics, East Carolina University School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in pediatric medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to children of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region. |
Job Duties |
The Department of Pediatrics at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC is seeking an academic general pediatrician to join the faculty of the Division of General Pediatrics.
The academic general pediatrician reports to the Chair of the Department of Pediatrics through the Division Chief of General Pediatrics and is responsible for providing medical services to infants, children, and adolescents in the outpatient clinics.
The academic general pediatrician will provide excellent medical education for residents, medical students, nursing students, and other learners.
The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina is affiliated with
ECU Health Medical Center.
ECU Health Medical Center is the flagship hospital for
ECU Health and serves as the teaching hospital for the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Fixed term or tenure track position available at the title/rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor.
Employment in this position provides eligibility to participate in the
UNC Optional Retirement Program (
ORP) which offers matching employer contributions and employee control of investment choices, along with eligibility to participate in various Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plans (401k, 403b. 457). This position is not eligible to participate in the NC Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (

Qualifications for Fixed Term (Clinical Track) or Tenure Track are the same. |
Minimum Education/Experience |
MD or DO from an appropriately accredited institution, or completed foreign medical education accepted and recognized for
ECFMG Certification. Eligibility for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina. Board Certified or eligible for board certification

Must have a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in North Carolina. Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Pediatrics. |
