Position Highlights

The College of Nursing invites applicants for a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator II position. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Chen X. Chen to oversee successful implementation of a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded study. This study will examine the role of the vaginal microbiome in menstrual health among adolescents and adults.

Duties & Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and submit IRB documents.
  • Develop
    and maintain standard operating procedures; oversees and ensures
    compliance with regulatory, protocol, , standard operating procedures,
    and good clinical practices; organize regulatory documents
    appropriately; document and report protocol deviations to PI and IRB.
  • Organize
    and conduct staff training; monitor staff responsibilities, evaluating
    staff personnel, and fostering communication between research personnel.
  • Participate in human subjects recruitment, consenting, and follow up.
  • Monitor participant enrollment and retention and modify participant engagement strategies as needed.
  • Collect data and biospecimen per protocol.
  • Complete
    basic lab processing as required by study protocols (e.g., centrifuge,
    aliquot, and freeze samples) and maintain detailed specimen records.
  • Schedule, create agendas, organize minutes for study team meetings.
  • Develop solutions to problems and challenges to ensure the smooth progress of the study.
  • Assist with study budget monitoring and management.
  • Prepare reports for funding agency (i.e., the NIH).
  • Participate as needed in other activities necessary for successful study implementation and dissemination.

  • Knowledge in human subjects research and good research
    practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills along with strong oral and
    written communication abilities.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Skilled in effectively giving and receiving feedback to foster continuous
    improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, dependability, and a proactive approach.
Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.

* Minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with biospecimen collection and handling.
  • Phlebotomy skills.
  • Experience with supervising other staff.
  • Experience with data management and REDCap database.
