Senior Director Field Operations Strategy

As we advance our operating model towards Dynamic Shared Ownership with an even stronger focus on customer oriented and mission-based work, the goal of the Field Operations Strategy function is to is to shape and advance our ways of working between the Customer Engagement and the Product Squads and enabling partners with the objective to ensure that the Customer Squads are enabled through customer centric content, programs and capabilities.

The Senior Director Field Operations Strategy is a Whippany based role and reports into the VP, Field Operations and is aligned to a Product Squad and the leadership teams across the key enabling partners for the Customer Engagement team. This person will advance our sales team priorities, culture, and overall impact by driving key national sales initiatives in partnership with a broad cross-functional team.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Senior Director Field Operations Strategy, are to:

  • Shape the national Field Operations strategy for a Product Squad, incl. driving the strategy and field LT requirements for the go-to-market and deployment approaches;
  • Establish the ways of working, content, program & capability requirements across the Customer Engagement and Product Squad & Portfolio team (i.e., integration of Customer and Customer Engagement function into 90-day planning cycles, Customer missions, Customer Engagement Suggestions, etc.); ensure that the Customer Squad needs are at the center of program, content and capability development; ensure full alignment and transparency across team members by actively participating in the Integrated Product Team;
  • Establish and advance national programs, Suggestions and capabilities within our global and local operation model based on customer needs in close collaboration with the Customer Engagement AVPs and Customer Engagement Excellence team;
  • Launch and advance national level Customer Missions and participate actively in the Mission teams requiring advancements of programs or capabilities (i.e., STEM assessments);
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to enable Customer Squad requirements across Bayer-wide system field facing system and tools (i.e., Veeva SF CRM, Reporting);
  • Shape the national Customer Engagement strategy and optional go-to-market approaches against the highest opportunity customers pull through of national;
  • Shape and execute the Customer Engagement launch strategy (for new products or new indications) participating as a key member of the pre-launch team;
  • Operationalize go-to market models and indication launches, ways of working and capability requirements across the Product Squads, Product and Portfolio enabling partners, Field Operations and other enabling partners to drive the highest impact for our customers;
  • Execute national level programs to advance Product strategy across the Customer Engagement squads (i.e., National POAs);
  • Simplify and harmonize across all Customer Engagement squads the operations and capabilities in the effort to continue to drive operational efficiencies;
  • Support Customer Missions across US Pharma as needed.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required in Management, Business or related field, with progressive leadership experience working in the Healthcare or related industry;
  • Diverse functional background across Commercial functions in the Healthcare industry; Must have a strategic mindset and the ability to understand the full operational landscape across Bayer Pharma and the interdependencies across these;
  • Must be solution oriented and able to translate business requirements from field sales into simple processes, systems and operations without creating unnecessary operational complexity for downstream activities;
  • Highly effective at prioritizing with the ability to stay focused on highest priority opportunities / activities and excellence in execution;
  • Must be able to work under pressure to meet short timelines;
  • Must have excellent leadership, organization, communication & interpersonal skills in order to direct others;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality where appropriate,
  • Ability to travel as necessary;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience (8 with advanced degree, i.e., MS/MBA) working in the Healthcare or related industry along with Field and Operational experience;
  • Operational background in Field Account Management, i.e.; IDN's, preferred.
