About The Role

At Woodruff Sawyer, we provide an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting Team. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in the daily transactional and analytical accounting operations. This position not only ensures personal growth but also presents ambitious career advancement opportunities within our dynamic organization. This role is based in our Denver, Colorado office, with a flexible hybrid work environment crafted to support your work-life balance.

What You'll Do



  • Complete month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of trust and operational cash accounts, working closely with the Treasury and Revenue teams
  • Review month-over-month income statement comparisons and record key factors influencing fluctuations at the department level
  • Analyze decentralized data input of accounts payable invoices and expense reports for accurate general ledger account coding, using Concur
  • Conduct general ledger activity research and analysis
  • Perform ongoing analysis of vendor spend
  • Assist with business tax filings, property taxes, and other tax matters
  • Contribute to the annual financial audit schedules and prepare requested deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
  • Help identify and implement efficiencies and automated procedures to improve the timeliness and accuracy of accounting functions
  • Collaborate across departments to assist, educate, and acquire information required to fulfill duties
  • Successfully implement special projects, as assigned


Experience & Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
  • 3-4 years of accounting experience
  • CPA or CPA eligibility is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite and Concur is a plus
  • Diligent, collaborative, and skilled at prioritizing tasks
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to travel quarterly

More About Us

Compensation: Anticipated salary between $68,640 - $110,000. Salary offered will be dependent upon geography, experience, and expertise of the candidate.

This position is eligible to participate in an incentive program to earn additional compensation with a target equivalent to 8% of salary annually, based on individual and Company performance.
