Job Summary:

Responsible for the administrative leadership of assigned strategic philanthropic initiatives. Serves as a strategic partner, collaborator and project manager to development officers and Allina Health leadership. Applies leadership and communication skills, operational expertise and strategic thinking to support attainment of fundraising goals.

Key Position Details:

The Allina Health Foundation is dedicated to raising funds to advance the non-profit mission of Allina Health to serve our communities by "providing exceptional care, as we prevent illness, restore health and provide comfort to all who entrust us with their care." The Allina Health Foundation was established in April 2022 through the coming together of 12 separate Allina Health hospital and service-specific foundations to better support Allina Health in providing a seamless care delivery experience to our patients and communities.

This advisor will play a key role in supporting major gifting fundraising by ensuring that gift officers have vital information about strategic fundraising priorities to share with donors. They will also act as a liaison between Clinical Operations Leadership and the Allina Health Foundation.

The estimated annual salary for this opportunity is $99,000/year to $144,000/year with a median wage of $120,000/year.

Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Annual pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Role will be primarily remote with occasional onsite responsibilities.

Candidates must be located in MN or WI and within a commutable distance to the Allina Commons located in South Minneapolis.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative leadership of priority fundraising initiatives.
    • Serves as a main point of contact for operational leaders with the Allina Health Foundation.
    • Works closely with operational leaders, foundation staff and communications to develop case statements and supporting materials for funding priorities. Ensures information is updated as needed.
    • Partners with fundraisers and operational leaders to prepare them with needed information to share with potential donors and coordinates donor engagement opportunities such as tours.
    • Engages Philanthropic Advisory Boards in endorsing and monitoring progress and impact of fundraising priorities.
    • Works in partnership with Benefactor Experience and Philanthropic Advisory Boards to support development of cultivation and stewardship events for assigned funding priorities.
    • Tracks proposals and key metrics for assigned fundraising priorities.
    • Assists with allocation of funds raised in assigned areas.
    • Advances a culture of philanthropy.
  • Serves as a strategic partner to fundraisers and Allina Health leadership.
    • Builds strong partnerships with fundraisers and operational leaders around organizational fundraising initiatives.
    • Develops and maintains a deep understanding of organizational priorities in order to inform the development of compelling funding opportunities. Brings a system perspective to ensure alignment across Allina Health Foundation funding priorities.
    • Partners with fundraisers and operational leaders to prioritize engagement opportunities in the fundraising process.
    • Serves as a content expert on fundraising priorities and assists fundraisers in strategy and proposal development.
    • Intermediary for operational leaders to keep them involved in the philanthropic process.
    • Represents the Allina Health Foundation in internal and external meetings and events to build deeper relationships with Allina Health leaders and cultivate donors.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, health care, business administration or related field required
  • Master's degree in Health Care Administration, Non-profit Administration, Business Administration or related fields preferred
  • 7+ years Philanthropy experience required or
  • 7+ years Program Management that includes strategic thinking, operations and communications required
  • 5 to 7 years Philanthropy experience in a large complex organization preferred
