The Shift Lead plans, directs, coordinates work activities and obtains resources necessary to deliver products that meet all company cost, quality and quantity requirements. This position will be located at our PPCAT Plant in Louisville, KY and will support our Catalyst Business Unit.

Responsibilities



  • Ensure adherence to all ESHA (Environmental, Health, and Safety) guidelines and their enforcement.
  • Take proactive measures to enhance conditions affecting employee safety.
  • Clarify company policies to employees, ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and uphold Clariant values.
  • Allocate and oversee work based on plant priorities and the capabilities of operators.
  • Supervise the training and development of shift operators to boost shift proficiency and adaptability.
  • Execute comprehensive shift handovers to guarantee the transfer of essential knowledge between shifts.
  • Generate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and targets that align with the site's strategic goals.
  • Offer structured feedback to operators on meeting and maintaining targets.
  • Alert relevant parties upon detection of product, process, and equipment anomalies.
  • Adopt Clariant Production System manufacturing best practices, such as 5S, OEE, and skill matrix.
  • Learn to recognize waste and implement lean methodologies to eradicate it.
  • Engage in structured problem-solving with the team to devise strategies for ongoing improvement.



Requirements



  • Bachelor degree or equivalent from college/university or technical school; or more than 5 years related experience and/or training.
  • Preference for candidates with over two years of leadership experience.
  • Previous experience in the Catalyst Business Unit is also preferred.
  • Proficient in personal computer skills, adept in SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of calculating rates, ratios, and percentages, as well as interpreting bar graphs.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a proven track record of working effectively with team members.
