Job Description

Pay Range: $28.60 - $37.15 (pending on level as noted below)

I. Purpose

To repair and maintain production equipment throughout the facility in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications and to repair and maintain Company buildings and facilities as necessary.

II. Duties

  • Operate and perform in a fully functioning team environment.
  • Troubleshoot industrial equipment proficiently. Employing a formalized approach and making effective use of communication skills, schematics, and shop toolsRead, understand, and follow prints and schematics (mechanical manuals, pneumatic, and hydraulic).
  • Demonstrate Electrical and mechanical skills in the following areas; but not limited to:
  • Bearing replacement.
  • Rigging.
  • Properly align couplings, sprockets, pulleys, drive belts, chains, etc.
  • Cut, solder and install copper tubing and perform non-certified arc welding, brazing and oxyacetylene burning.
  • Hydraulics.
  • Parts fabrication.
  • Lubrication.
  • Install and set-up new machinery.
  • Plumbing.
  • Rebuild spare parts.
  • Pneumatics (cylinders, valves, etc.)
  • Vacuum pumps
  • Hydraulics (cylinders, valves, etc.
  • Relay logic
  • Ladder logic
  • 24VDC Controls
  • AC and DC voltage
  • Single and 3 phases (up to 480)
  • Mechanical Schematics
  • Electrical schematics
  • VFD's
  • Servo Motor and Drive's
  • Gears, sprockets, chain drives, Ratio's, etc.
  • Sensors, reflectors
  • Limit switch's
  • Effectively communicate through oral and written means.
  • Make emergency repairs when necessary to minimize production downtime.
  • Demonstrate a safety-minded approach
  • Maintain equipment and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform and emphasize preventative maintenance.
  • Effectively communicate through oral and written means.
  • Make emergency repairs when necessary to minimize production downtime.

  • VFD Operation, troubleshoot, etc
  • Servo motor concepts
  • Distribution of plant power
  • PLC's, process controls
  • Test instruments
  • Status indicators and error codes
  • Force/disable
  • Startup procedures
  • Other similar duties as assigned

Knowledge

1.Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Trade School Diploma required.
  • Completion of an accredited Journeyman's Certificate.
  • Ability to use/operate: Various hand tools, power tools, pipe benders and hydraulic benders, micrometers, dial indicators, squares, calipers, fork-trucks, electric carts, motorized platform lift, etc.
  • Welding certificate a plus.
  • Familiarity with compressed air systems and HVAC systems (Chillers, Heating and Cooling systems) a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally, with people of various educational and technical backgrounds, both inside and outside the Company.
  • Ability to use computers to do word processing and spreadsheets is required.
  • Ability to perform various math functions to be used in their daily work tasks.
  • Pass mechanic's test.

**This is a Union based (seniority driven) plant where membership into the union is required. We have rotating overnight shifts either 7pm-7am or 7pm-7am depending on the department.
