Job Summary:
The Department of Asian Languages & Cultures seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Korean Studies to begin in August 2025. Responsibilities: The candidate will be expected to conduct significant scholarly research leading to publication at the national and international levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, with a general teaching load of two courses per semester. Mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students is expected. Professional and university service is required as appropriate for the career stage. Education: Required Qualifications: Candidates for this position must have expertise in the humanities or qualitative social sciences with a specialization in Korean Studies and be fluent in Korean. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching at the university level, including a demonstrated commitment to teaching large-enrollment and thematically broad undergraduate courses. Candidates for the position must show potential for developing outstanding and highly visible scholarly research focused on Korean Studies.
