Working location: Joint Expeditionary Base/Little Creek

$19.56/hr.

The Lead Worker- Janitor is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, evaluation, and supervision of subordinate staff in the maintenance of the Federal contract. This person plans, assigns, and directs work to be done in accordance with contract requirements, Didlake's policies and procedures and applicable laws.

This position organizes, directs, controls, and evaluates assigned staff in the following tasks:



  • Cleaning hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Cleaning floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets.
  • Replenishing bathroom supplies and floor supplies.
  • Setting an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
  • Assigning tasks and issuing supplies and equipment to staff and inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Requisitioning supplies and equipment from the Project Manager.
  • Training employees in how to do assigned work and in using equipment and supplies appropriately.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems of employees and customers; referring to supervisor as necessary.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed.
  • Responsible for fostering a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and/or demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy and procedure.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Acts as a good steward of employer and government resources.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • May Transport individual teams, supplies, and equipment to the work site as necessary to complete the required tasks.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.
