GENERAL FUNCTION

This position is responsible for providing general warehouse supervision and coordinating daily operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • The supervisor is responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly planning of their department. The supervisor will monitor, coach and direct the associates to attain the department and DC goals.
  • Plan, communicate and execute the department's daily, weekly and monthly action plans to meet department and DC performance expectations. This includes responsibility for maintaining the department labor budget, proper labor planning and resource requirements, meeting service level, accuracy and quality goals, and controlling shrink in order to meet store commitments.
  • Develop associates to achieve the department's performance goals and objectives. This includes on-the-job training, coaching and giving feedback on performance including observations, and timely writing and delivering of performance appraisals.
  • Foster excellent communication and teamwork amongst associates. This includes maintaining open communication with associates, daily start-up meetings, and department morale.
  • Create a safe work environment for associates. This includes ensuring the associates have the proper equipment to do their job, clean work area, and educating associates on proper techniques.
  • Continuous analysis of, and improving department processes and procedures.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Four year degree or equivalent combination of education & experience
  • Five or more years of experience within warehousing /distribution with two or more years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with intense peak seasons.
  • Outstanding leadership qualities including: assertiveness, organization, enthusiasm, decisiveness, planning, confidence, accountability, effective delegation, perseverance and credibility.
  • Proven ability to deal well with people at all levels and working in a team environment.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical skills.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime.

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements.
