Job Overview
The incumbent is responsible for acquiring supplies to meet the needs of the contract to include, common supplies available off the shelf, items that are manufactured to order, and/or specialized materials. The incumbent will receive and evaluate requests, research requests, and where appropriate, establish priorities. The incumbent will interact professionally with contractors, vendors and corporate staff members, maintaining effective working relationships. Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Plans and organizes work to meet all deadlines.
- Provides information relative to expediting and current status of supply transactions; coordinates with department supervisors/leads on overdue material(s); tracks the material(s) to expedite anticipated receipt date or to establish a revised delivery date; and updates all applicable reports.
- Picks-up and delivers supplies as required.
- Conducts inventory management activities, including placement of inventory stock, replacement item orders, and inventory management control.
- Coordinates with multiple divisions when shipping/receiving supplies via military routes and on any other logistical problem.
- Originates necessary documents, forms, reports, and Federal shipping documents.
- Utilizes computer work systems to extract information concerning projects, materials or services.
- Ensures timely submission of required reports to the customer.
- Ensures proper housekeeping practices, to include maintaining cleanliness of government vehicles inside and out.
- Inspects and diagnoses problems to determine corrective action.
- Performs duties in a timely, cost effective and accurate manner.
- Handles, processes and documents hazardous materials; delivers hazardous materials to proper locations with handling/processing documentation; deliveries time sensitive lab specimens.
- Obtains Material Data Safety Sheets (MSDS) on all materials requiring an MSDS.
- Conducts daily visual check of company vehicles; checks oil and tires, washes exterior, and cleans interior on a bi-monthly basis.
- Adheres to all safety and health rules and regulations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
- Knowledge of Federal shipping procedures and forms (DD1149, DD1384, and DD1387).
- Knowledge of basic mathematical functions.
- Knowledge of government contracts, correspondence, reports, and records.
- Two (2) years clerical and data entry computer experience.
- Intermediate skill in the use of Microsoft Office, and database programs.
- Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
- Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
- Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
