What will you do? Facilities Planning and Design:
- Support the planning, design, and layout of facilities to meet organizational requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and engineering teams to ensure optimal facility design.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to execute projects successfully.
Maintenance and Operations:
- Oversee the maintenance and day-to-day operations of facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the reliability of critical systems.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in facility operations.
- Identify and implement initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that facilities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Work with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Budget Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for facility projects, maintenance, and operations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize spending.
Space Planning and Utilization:
- Analyze space utilization and plan for future space needs based on organizational growth and requirements.
- Optimize the layout of workspaces for efficiency and functionality.
Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, service providers, and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and oversee the performance of third-party services.
How will you get here?
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- 5-8 years of related experience.
- Proficiency in facilities engineering, project management, and knowledge of building systems.
- Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences.
