Job Title: Aircraft Quality Inspector
Location: San Antonio, TX 78226
Duration: 6+ months assignment with possible extension
Shift Schedule: Variable Shifts- 1st shift (5:30 am to 2:00 pm), 2nd shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm)
Pay Rate: $45/hr. on W2 without benefits
Role & Responsibilities:
- Performs verification and inspection of flight component installation and operational functional testing of aircraft systems.
- Inspects and verifies troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and avionics systems to isolate mechanical and/or electrical/electronic faults and documents faulty components.
- Inspects pre-flight and post-flight checks and performs inspections of maintenance and modification before delivery.
- Supports documentation of identified problems during operation and testing of deliverable products.
- Verifies the accuracy of work performed and may conduct self-inspection.
- Assists in performing system & sub-system pre-delivery inspections and aircraft maintenance inspections in preparation for delivery.
- Participates in determining details of assignments to accomplish a wide range of objectives.
- Plans, schedules, and arranges own activities with the assistance of lead.
- Inspects, documents, and creates non-conformance records with minimal assistance.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
- Must be able to work any shift including days, nights, and weekends.
- 3+ years' experience in the aerospace industry.
- 3+ years of experience in quality inspection and/or auditing.
- 3+ years of experience working with Velocity and other 787 production applications.
- Experience in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):
- FAA Airframe & Power Plant license.
- 3+ years of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) risk experience.
- 3+ years of 787 Program Experience.
- 2+ years of Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience.
- Proficient in RADARS, PSDS, and BAC specifications.
- Proficient in all forms of NCR (Non-Conformance Record) and EPD (Emergent Process Document) generation (NC/NCR/RGEN/PU/SAT/SRR/PU or RGEN Revision etc.).
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- 3+ years of flight line operations experience.
Ability to perform the following requirements:
- The candidate must be able to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
- Exposure to noise, working on elevated platforms.
- Use personal protective gear for the face, eyes, ears, hands, and arms as required.
- Pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
- Experience understanding and interpreting detailed written and verbal work instructions and processes
- Handle, use, and dispose of hazardous material.
- Obtain & maintain training certifications as required to support assignment responsibilities
- Occasional (1 to 3 hrs.) finger manipulation.
- On occasion, a 2-person lift may be necessary for weights greater than 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching overhead (3 to 6 hers).
- Frequent walking on flat surfaces and standing on flat or uneven surfaces.
- Frequent balancing on a ladder, steps, or uneven surfaces.
- Occasional climbing on 3-12 ft ladders or stands.
- Rotation of head/neck, sitting, crawling, squatting, bend/st.
- Occasional contact with metals and frequent exposure to noise.
Education / Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).
