We are seeking an experienced, skilled individual to fill the role of Chef Manager/Assistant Culinary Experience Director to oversee the kitchen and lead our culinary team, providing high-quality meals to the residents at our newest campus of one of Minnesota's leading nonprofit senior housing and service providers. This position is responsible for all food preparation aspects of the dining service operation in the community as well as oversight of the policies and programs of the Culinary Services Department under the supervision of the Culinary Experience Director.

This position is full-time working 10:00am - 6:30pm, this will include working every other weekend and every other holiday.

This campus is full of social vibrancy in an urban setting, distinctive living spaces and a variety of amenities to create an experience the resident is looking for to create their future home. The campus will offer 153 independent, assisted living and memory care apartments. Amenities of the site include dining options, wellness center with pool, library, lounge area, golf simulator, salon, and wood shop area.

Qualifications

Education: Degree in Culinary Arts, Dietetics, or related field preferred or extensive experience in lieu of education. Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) is preferred, ServSafe Certification required.

Experience: Minimum three years institutional nutrition services experience is required. Two years supervisory experience within the food service industry. State and County Survey experience. Experience within senior care industry preferred.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of nutrition services functions and related federal and state regulations
  • Demonstrated abilities to participate in and collaborate with groups
  • Ability to positively manage and communicate change and to model appropriate behaviors to staff and others
  • High level of commitment to and success with effective customer service skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Effective time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software, including word processing, graphics, and spreadsheet applications
