Application open to returning staff only POSITION TYPE : Seasonal PAY RATE : $19.00 - $20.60 SUPERVISORY : Yes; Project coordination / task assigning /training SUPERVISED BY : Lift Operations Supervisors / Manager POSITION SUMMARY : Res ponsible for breaking Lift Operators and stations, providing communication and direction fro m Lift Captains to Supervisors, aiding in training and documentation with all staff. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for ANSI compliance at all lift stations. Responsible for lift station professionalism and communication of Lift Captain needs to Supervisors. Aids in break rotations and operation s o f al l lift stations throughout the day. Position requires helping with skill assessment and training of new and current staff . Supports the supervisors and man a gers in the safe daily operation of our crew and equipment. Position requires w orking within the budget guidelines and working towards supporting fiscal responsibility . PHYSICAL DEMANDS : This is a combined sitting, standing/walking, and riding snowmobile for up to 8 hours each . May lift up to 150 lbs. rarely; will boost children onto lift and shovel snow; aid is available for heavy lifting . Workers will bend, squat, kneel, climb, twist, and reach above shoulder lev el often . Will use hands for grasping and pushing/pulling at a 25 lb. to 30 lb. rate . Worksites can be up to 100% outside. Exposed to all temperatures and all moisture ranges. Hazards are mechanical, electrical, burns, and ice/snow. Uniforms are supplied. Sensory skills of vision, hearing, touch, smell, and speech are needed. OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES : Must have a thorough understanding of Schweitzer Mountain services and amenities. Provide a leadership role in guest services and lift operations. JOB SPECIFICATIONS : SKILLS : C omputer knowledge, upper-level skier or snowboarder. Organizational skills. Effective written and verbal skills. Critical thinking in emergency situations. Snowmobile experience preferred. Mechanical or construction experience a plus. EDUCATION : High School graduate. Minimum math skills important. EXPERIENCE : Two years Lift Services/ Operations experience. Snowmobile experience preferred. LICENSE NEEDED : None. MACHINES OR TOOLS OPERATED : Snowmobiles, radio scanners, shovels, snow blower, drills , Pulaski , snow blower, rakes, brooms, chairlifts.
