Genesis10 is seeking a Business Analyst for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Austin, TX

Job Description :

The Information Business Analyst will work with IT project teams and business users to collect, clarify, and document business requirements (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed, implemented, and supported, primarily on data management initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Partners with business owners and technology staff to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into functional requirements.
  • Builds and maintains a broad view of business processes to understand dependencies, redundancies, and cross functional impacts.
  • Leads and facilitates requirements gathering sessions with the user community.
  • Develops use cases to explain the business requirements and contributes a business user's perspective during design sessions.
  • Coordinates across IT to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within the organization, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible.
  • Creates and maintains documentation on business areas' processes and business rules.
  • Manages user testing and training for new technology and solutions.
  • Mentors and works with other business analysts as required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience with process mapping and documentation, including identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products/applications.
  • Experience with custom software development, Software as a Service (SaaS) or integration projects.
  • Ability to serve as the translator between business area users and technical staff.
  • Ability to work effectively on both large, cross-functional teams and independently.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate group work sessions.
  • Strong customer service, analytical and research skills required.
  • Must have a passion for championing excellence in customer experience.
  • Skilled at creating professional documentation using MS Office tools.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer technology, business, or related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in software development
  • Business analysis/requirements analysis experience in support of commercial off-the-shelf and custom software solutions and SaaS implementation
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) certification preferred.
