Job Summary
The Benefits Technical Lead provides comprehensive support of compliance processes, projects, analysis, and transaction management for enterprise retirement and benefits programs.

Primary Objectives
  • Execute timely, effective processes to complete compliance, audit, documentation, transaction processing, reporting, and filing requirements for retirement and benefit programs.
  • Coordinate, plan, and effectively execute projects relating to employee retirement and benefit programs within required timeframes.
  • Respond to inquiries and requests relating to program operations from participants, auditors, and business stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support benefit and retirement plan compliance processes, audits, filings, notice and form distribution, and associated reporting and notice requirements.
  • Provide timely, accurate responses to inquiries by plan participants, vendors, and corporate stakeholders regarding enterprise retirement and benefit programs and related transactions.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc reports, census data, and supporting information for benefit audits and plan renewal and implementation.
  • Execute and drive implementation and optimization projects for benefit and retirement plan programs, including coordination with vendors and internal resources, testing and audit, and escalation processes to ensure timely delivery of programs and initiatives.
  • Compile and maintain accurate and compliant program and participant documentation, communication, and records.
  • Coordinate benefit transactions affecting employee wages and taxes with Payroll, ensuring timely, accurate communication and documentation relating to benefit-related deductions and plan remittances.
  • Enter, process, review, and complete employee benefit plan elections and status changes in HR and vendor systems. Ensure compliance with appropriate plan rules, restrictions, and timeframes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor degree or college-level coursework in a related field preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), or equivalent preferred
Work Experience
  • 5+ years' related experience in employee benefit and retirement plan administration required
  • Experience with carrier and recordkeeper implementations required
  • Experience with large retirement plan administration preferred
  • Experience with administration of benefits programs in multiple states preferred
  • Administration of benefits programs in multi-employer/union plan environment preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Understanding of features and mechanics of a broad variety of employee benefit and retirement plans.
  • Understanding of applicable requirements, regulations, and federal and state laws relating to employee benefit plans.
  • Excellent process management and administration skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and/or benefits management software and related reporting and data management functions.
  • Ability to identify and report discrepancies in large amounts of quantitative audit data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to employees and business leaders throughout multiple business units.
  • Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive information and materials; understanding and application of HIPAA protocols required.
  • Ability to effectively articulate administrative and documentation requirements, enrollment processes, and eligibility information to employees and managers.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels: * Excel: Intermediate level of skill * Word, Outlook: Basic level of skill
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Familiarity with UKG Pro and Benefits Admin/PlanSource benefit administration tool preferred.

The expected salary range for this role is set forth below. Ranges may be modified in the future.

Zone 1: $60.00 - $100.00
